This has recently been an issue with a model I had scheduled, so I wanted to address this with everyone in case there are others with this misconception. I tend to schedule models well in advance; sometimes 4-6 weeks in advance. If you know you are going to order a custom with that model, it is best to go ahead and submit a custom video or picture inquiry as soon as you can. Submitting an inquiry does not obligate you to pay, and you can still cancel later. Let me also say, when you submit a form with the information for your custom video (or pictures), make sure you do so with accurate information and script details – and not just as a placeholder so you are guaranteed a slot.
Please do not assume that you will have plenty of time and can wait until the week of the shoot to fill out the details. Some models will book up faster, and I will close customs well before the shoot date you see on the custom videos page. I usually have a set time frame to work with the model, and I do not want to take more custom videos than I know I can film in that time frame. That is one of the reasons I will close customs early. Also, if the model is traveling and will be leaving her home days ahead of the shoot I have scheduled, I will close custom videos once I have sent her a comprehensive outfit list for the shoot.
So please, please do not wait until the last minute. If you think you will have plenty of time, that might not be the case. Once you know what you want, take a few minutes to fill out a custom inquiry so a slot is reserved for you on that day. If not, it might mean missing out on a video with a model you have been waiting on for a while!
